No I'm saying the exact opposite of that. I'm saying that apathy is what *causes* the winner to win i.e. through paucity of (potential) opposition.
Not voting is allowing *other people* to make up your mind for you.
Not voting is abdication of responsibilty.
Not voting is irresponsible; jejune.
The irony of "not being a sheep", yet following Russell Brand's advice is likely to be lost on the kind of people who have been taken in by his utterings.

What do you think of an option that lets you say that none of the candidates speak for you, a "none of the above option" that says, i am here to participate but no one represents me.
It would be interesting to see how many "votes" none of the above would get.

I have advocated this idea many times, myself. It is a meme that is circulating ever more frequently, of late.
Meanwhile, the film Brewster's Millions (ft. Richard Prior), from which it comes is usually rated as only 2 or three stars, in the Radio Times, so I reckon most people haven't taken the trouble to watch it.
