W1A Series 2
I do not understand why W1A series 2 is on BBC iplayer on this laptop but not available on iplayer on my tv which is provided by Virgin media. Can anyone explain this ? I do not like watching tv close up on a small laptop screen. Thanks.

However I wonder if the programme you're seeking might not simply be 'hiding' somewhere on Virgin's BBC iPlayer app? (i.e. it's not been properly 'indexed' even though it's actually there)
That's because I've just looked for W1A on the BBC iPlayer app on my Now TV box and, like you, I've (initially) found that it's not there. (i.e. I've called up the list of programmes beginning with W and it's definitely NOT in the list). However going to the 'search by name' feature, and entering 'W1' immediately brings it up (as, indeed, does going to the 'Channels' list and looking at BBC Two).
So perhaps it's there all the time if you simply look a bit harder?

I don't know if this answer is a little late by now, but I find that some programmes can take a few days to show up. Take Friday's edition of The Graham Norton Show, on bbciplayer via my Virgin Media service, it only showed up yesterday.
Buenchico is right, there are some rights issues with some programmes. Often films and programmes not made by the BBC or some vintage shows.
You can also try typing the title of the show in the 'search all' option listed at the bottom of the other categories when you get to the iplayer menu.
