We have. I have just been in the garden with Tilly and it's perishing. A clear sky and a three quatrer moon shining brightly. Brrrrr! Glad to come back inside.
I said on that thread that in August, after being in Florida for almost 3 weeks, we will be in the Bahamas for a week taking it easy after all the theme parks in Orlando, and travelling around ( The Everglades is on my radar as is Clearwater, St Petersberg, Miami, Tampa,Fort Myers etc
Really cold these last few days. After we got our gas bill 'shock horror' recently, we were pleased that it turned warmer so we turned the heating off. It's back on again now in the evenings.
We had an open coal fire till I was 14. I loved it, but then I didn't have to clean it or set it. My responsibility was limited to going to the coal house for a shovelful now and again. Of course, at the height of winter, whilst the living room was lovely and cosy the rest of the house was freezing. Hot water bottles or electric blankets for bed.
Thanks, Tilly....the kids are getting excited and even the two eldest, who are at Uni, and go on holiday with their friends, have blagged a holiday with good old Mum and Dad (As if they were ever gonna refuse when we asked them if they fancy it )
Temps can get really hot there so drinking a lot is so important. Our friends, who are in Fort Lauderdale, say the temps are up to 35C already.....phew
We went to Florida last June and it's relentless - completely knackering but worth it because the kids loved it. It's about the only place I've ever been where no one bats an eye at people with lots of kids.
