I have lost my birth certificate. How do I get a new one ? I live in England and was born in Scotland. Thank you.

Write to the Register Office in the town you were born giving them all the relevant details and enclose a cheque for £15 (check the official website to confirm the cost) and they'll post it out to you.

^^ yes and you can order a birth certificate for England and Wales online as well.( For those born south of the border.) I had to do it for my son's passport application.
