here's an event that would appear to fall under protection of the first amendment. yet in today's climate, the organisers must have known what was likely to happen and although it was only the would-be perpetrators - who were clearly intent on creating outrage - that were killed, the consequences could have been far more serious.

is it now time for the concept of free speech to be strictly regulated, to exclude incitement to hatred?
