Also i bought a computer and a car whilst i was at uni.
my books this year cost near 450!!! v.expensive. Then there's rent, tv licence, council tax, electric and gas bills then there is bus fair to get to uni/work - 3.50 a day. Food shopping, and of course like everyone ales, some of it goes on nights out etc...Just all the things that most people use money for! we're not an alien species! And not all students spend their days drinking and smoking doing nothing...some of us do our work, have jobs and actually want a degree. Uni is like a job - you do what you have to do, and more, and then on a weekened or during the week you go out and relax!! and some of us can even cook and clean as well!
Well this is the question i've been asked by my university fianace adviser. In all honesty i've no idea, I stopped drinking and going out excessively about a month ago so it's not just drink that we spend it on! I suspect my downfall was/is topshop, internet shopping and food (though i'd rather have clothes and alcohol than food)!
