Hi
i'm an 20 year old woman and have pretty normal periods lasting 4-6 days. At the moment i have been 'on' now for nearly two weeks, i usually use tampons but took a break and have used sanitary towels for this period. Could this be why my period is so long or should i see my GP about the issue? thanks in advance :)

It wouldn't normally make a difference. Do you use the contraceptive pill? Sometimes a change in this can cause prolonged/abnormal bleeding? Is there any pain associated with the bleeding?

Two weeks seems like a long time. i'd consult with your GP at least by phone if not in person.

Hi Katie - I would definitely ring your doctor. It may be nothing but a period should never be two weeks long.
