LG USB Drive

I have just bought an LG USB dive and I stuipdly tried to save things to it before I'd formatted it to my computer. No when I try to format it, it won't allow me and says 'PNF failed! Please replug the device or reinstall the device driver.' I have done both of these and tried it on a different laptop but nothing is happening.

I have Windows XP on both laptops.

Any suggestions?

Is this a memory stick or an external hard drive?

if its not working on either your or other PC's maybe the drive itself is at fault ?? I thought these sticks were just plug and play and didnt need any formatting as such.
As a last resort you could restore system to a date before you had this drive and then start the install process from scratch - at least if you get the same problem it could confirm if the drive is faulty??

Are you sure it is PNF and not PFN?

It's ok. Dixons swapped it for a new one and that one is now working.
