Am considering driving around Wales for a couple of weeks, stopping off as and when the mood or interest takes me. Will probably start in Cardiff and work my way around and up country. Is there anywhere I should not miss, sights, pubs et.
After Cardiff. A visit to Castle Coch Then on to Caerphilly birth place of Tommy Cooper and Caerphilly castle, famous enough for its leaning tower. 2nd largest in area in Europe. And birth place of Malcome Uphill. TT motorbike racer first person to lap Isle of Man at 100mph unofficial record.
Can thoroughly agree with Chris' recommendation for Ty Coch Inn at Morfa Nefyn. We rented a cottage for quite a few years at the other end of the beach (it's seen in one of the views on that website) and virtually lived in the pub or on the splendid golf course that you have to drive through to get from town to beach. Wasn't half dark trying to stagger back along the beach though.
Excellent part of the the world.
