my pregnant eldest god-daughter (always called her princess) has gone in to hospital to have her own princess

i will become what she has termed a 'great god-father' in a matter of hours

i cannot visit yet, but i am informed that they are stable but still being monitored

just been to visit them in hospital - A is getting her strength back, and aurora is ok

as i sat down, i was asked to hold aurora while A had her tea - aurora is so small, and as i cradled her in my arms she had the hiccups, her whole body did little jerks but she did not cry or utter a sound, her lovely azure eyes looked directly into mine without blinking - eventually the hiccups stopped, and she dozed off

she is a little heartbreaker, just like her mother, and i was totally enchanted by her

for a reason i cannot fathom, i shed a little tear when i left - maybe it's just relief that they are on the mend, and may be going home with three or four days

thanks tony - it's been a long day, went directly from work to the cinema (watched spooks) then from there to the hospital, then shopping afterwards

time for a glass or two of sherry to relax for the evening

Congratulations excel - did they name her after a Spaceship in your honour (Star Trek or Stargate).

In no time at all she will be causing havoc and racing around the house.

I have little knowledge of human children - I tried to 'scruff' my brother's first child when she moved outwith a safe area. Works for cats/kittens.

Pressed too soon, or take loads of photos, babies have a habit of growing rather quickly and then as toddlers move incredibly quickly

For feeling really old I can recommend marrying a chap 17 years older than yourself and inheriting step-children of 56, 54 and 51 years of age. I have settled for being a sort of 'Big Sis'! Bad enough having my own eldest hit 40 this year!!!!
