The ads on TV Regards Gambling etc, as you may have seen this week in you Media, a woman gambled away £6 Million, there is enough hardship around for families & I think these Sites should be shut down, I do understand it's up to the individual to control their habit, but some are very weak, what's your views?
I'm unsure I'd want censorship on gambling, but the vulnerable should be identifiable and given help to get their addiction under control. One would also hope there were safeguards about getting massive credit too, not that I've much experience in betting establishments. Too adverse to losing money.
TWR; How do you 'prove' that you can afford a limit of more than £100? Pay slips, bank statements, a letter from the bank manager, perhaps? It just wouldn't work. Many of the firms i have accounts with have a facility that enables you to set your own limit, though i don't know how easy it would be to alter this limit once it has been set.
Ummmm; yes, i know, and, if you read the first line of my initial post, you will see that i agree. However, there are one or two calls in this thread to ban on line gambling and i'm reacting to them.
Tamborine; I sometimes play my weekly lotto on line and Camelot do have other, instant win, games one can play on their site. However, fair play to them as they do have a limit as to the number of times you can play these games - thereby restricting the amount you can lose.
