Paypal is free for personal accounts - hurrah! - but you cannot accept credit or debit cards payments. Only payments made with funds already in the buyers paypal account.
Paypal is horrendously expensive per centage wise for low value items - 20p plus at least 2% on every transaction.
However, you may lose sales if you restrict your buyers payment methods.
Consider taking direct bank transfer, where the buyer transfers payment directly into your current account. It is free for both parties but can take a few days to appear in your account. You will need online banking to monitor it effectively.
