Isn't that the wrong link ?
Sorry I see you think it fair well I don't at all See Baldric's link
Is what the wrong link , Khandro ?

Link @ 1746 is the correct one,
don't know what happened there, not very patient are you?

Although the links I submitted are identical the first one wasn't working for me for about 5 minutes, but is ok now ?????
There was nothing wrong with the first link ( that's removed )- it was one and the same , as the 17:46 link
Not sure if such a thing exists in N.I. but, if there's a bakery run by a more vocal religion would they have to supply the same type of cake if asked or would there be a special dispensation?
Wasn't there news stories covering shop assistants that follow the Islamic faith refusing to serve alcohol?
Yes there have been a few.

And it would be interesting to consider what would happen if a Muslim cakemaker was asked to make a cake portraying a cartoon of the Prophet.

I find this case very puzzling. The baker has been found to have discriminated against the customer on the grounds of his sexual orientation. But, of course, I doubt he'd have made the cake containing the words he found offensive for anybody, regardless of their sexual orientation. In the same way I doubt a Muslim baker would make one with (for him) an offensive cartoon for anybody regardless of their religion. So no discrimination (i.e. preferential or detrimental treatment) against any particular group was demonstrated at all.

The baker was not cherry picking which laws he would obey and which he would not. The law says he must not discriminate against any particular group. And he didn't - he would not have made the cake for anybody. I wish him well should he appeal.
'The baker has been found to have discriminated against the customer on the grounds of his sexual orientation'

No they haven't. They have been found to have discriminated against a customer on religious grounds. The fact that they are gay has merely stoked the embers.
Silly me, Zacs. I was simply going by the words in the BBC report:

"The firm was found to have discriminated against Mr Lee on the grounds of sexual orientation as well as his political beliefs."

It just shows you. You cannot believe everything you read.
My apologies NJ.
And readng a bit more in case I'd been even more mistaken, speaking of his disappointment at the ruling, Mr McArthur, the baker's manager said this:

"We've said from the start that our issue was with the message on the cake, not with the customer and that we didn't know what the sexual orientation of Mr Lee was, and it wasn't relevant either."

Which seems to reinforce my views. They would not, it seems, have made the cake for anybody.
Was the icing not the problem ?
