Poor you! Heavy, clay soil is back breaking. Google Bog garden and you'll get lots of results
You could also google 'plants for clay soil', again, there's loads of hits.
Achillea, Eupatorium. Oriental Poppies, Salvia and Agastache, for starters...
You can get loads of suggestions by using the 'plant selector' facility on the Royal Horticultural Society's website:

Okay, I dont know if your site is bright sun or full shade but one plant I can recomend for any situation is- Symphytum ibericum or S. hidcote pink. both will love your wet clay and are exellant ground cover plants that you just plant and sit back.

we have thick clay soil - add lots of sand and compost to help it.

plant potatoes that helps.

we also have roses, herbs, friut trees, rhubarb, veggies, bulbs, bushes. lots of things will grow, you just have to prepare first.
