Have an iPhone (4s), over two years old, and have it insured with John Lewis under contents, but they don't insure for any excessive bills that are run up if it were stolen.
Barclays said they would cover phone, and bills up to £2,000 for £7.50 a month, which seems a lot.
I'm really scared in case it is stolen and I get landed with a huge bill.
Any thoughts?

I only have a PAYG cellphone, so I'm not sure about this, but don't most cellphone network companies give you the option to limit your maximum bill?
Surely if it's stolen you'd report it ASAP and it would get blocked.

And no offence but I don't think anyone would bother stealing an iPhone 4s
have to agree - if you're on a capped contract then there's no worries

My poor phone is deeply insulted, but I feel a bit less worried.
Reason I became worried only recently, is my sister in law had her bag snatched in Morocco the other week, with her iPhone inside it, so these things do happen.
Anyone in a rush to grab a phone in the street won't be identifying the make and model at the time of the assault.
Have you got a passcode on your phone?, that will stop anyone using it straight away.
My contract phone has a £50 cap so the bill will never be more than that, whatever happens to it.
