Blue Badge Applications

My sister's mobility is seriously limited. How can she apply for a blue badge to be used when she is driven by her daughter or son?

Thank you bednobs She doesn't receive any benefits she is a retired teacher and has her teachers pension but is not yet eligible for her old age pension.
Does she need to get her doctor involved?

As bednobs states, apply through local council. She will be required to complete a form stating her health condition , send passport type photograph & cheque for £10. It is not as bad to apply as some people think.

If her mobility is seriously limited she really should consider applying for PIP which is not means tested so her pension won't be affected.

Reading about PIP why is the claim only available between ages 16 to 64 ?

because after 64 it turns into attendance allowance

Because you get a different allowance if you are 65 or over - Attendance Allowance.

Has this changed recently? I've known two people of an age who received blue badges.

Anyone over the age of 2 can get a blue badge if they qualify on medical grounds. There is no upper age limit.
