where is the adverts category gone?

I can't get into the adverts category, does anybody know what's happening?

from what I remember with other ABers that have the same trouble, it is something to do with software on your computer that stops pop-up adverts.

I think your computer won't allow the word "adverts"

Maybe try clicking the space above Animals and Nature and see if it takes you to the advert section.

Yer my mums computer never lets me get into the advert bit.

As tonymclark says - anti-spam / pop-up software usually causes this.

To get to Adverts, click any topic, and in the address bar, substitute the word 'adverts' for whichever the title of the topic you have selected.

For example, the address for the Film & TV topic main page is;

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Film-and-TV/

Now substitute the word 'Adverts' for ' Film_and_TV ' and press 'Go' (in IE) or 'return'. This should take you to the Adverts main page.

The address should be;
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Adverts/

You could always save this in 'Favourites' ( rename it as 'AB Adverts' or something), so that you can click on it to take you directly there.
If you put it in the 'Links' folder in Favourites, and activate the 'Links' toolbar - It will appear as a button at the top of your browser window.

I have suggested to AB that if they were to rename the adverts section and call it something such as 'commercials' it would help a lot of people. I tried brachiopods suggestion but it failed to work. So. if enough of you put forward your comments to AB suggestions we might all be able to access 'adverts' in one shape or form.

Funnily enough i haven't had a prob getting into the Adverts section....until i read your post! Immediately i triesd to access it and it wouldn't let me! First time ever! Anyway as a few people had mentioned it may be to do with pop up blocker etc i tried again, this time holding down the CTRL key whils clicking on the adverts header. It took me through straight away. Maybe try that.

Thanks for the advice 'mkt' but I'll think you'll find that most us - certainly I - haven't even got the adverts header available to us because of the aforementioned problem. Like others, I have to use my daughters laptop to access the adverts and I can only do that because she ignores my advice to get up to date virus protection!
