I have always found Clive Anderson really irritating, and wonder how he ever got a job as an interviewer.

He never listens to answers, interjecting ‘Yeah … yeah …’ every few seconds to register his disinterest, and interrupting as soon as he can.
Tonight, Phil Gayle joined the programme, and gave Anderson an object lesson in how interviews are conducted – you ask a question, and listen without interjection while the interviewee answers, and then you ask another question. His interview with Kay Mellor was really interesting, mainly because she had a chance to talk and answer questions without being hijacked by an ignorant egotist.

Maybe Phil can take over, and get rid of CA – he obviously learned nothing from The Bee Gees!

he was witty, that's how. I haven't seen him for years and don't know if this is still true.

The problem is, he isn't, but obviously still thinks he is.

In fact, his sense of wit is so important, that he has to interrupt his interviewees to spade it on.
matter of taste, I suppose. He used to be a barrister as I recall, so I suppose his method is to pounce on what people say.
Why can Clives never keep their hair, that's what I want to know!
