If so, DON'T. I did this yesterday and it was the most horrible and bitter chicken I've ever ate in my whole life. Stick to a peeled lemon, pineapple or avocados.

I don't know where I got this horrible idea and thinking about it now, who the hell wants orange flavoured chicken?

Oranges in the cavity, chicken in beer, chicken in dr pepper? Who does these things in the real world? It's almost as if the top chefs that bring out these crazy ideas giggle with each other and plot to make horrible recipes that they know their fans will try it and then say "It was the best chicken ever" as the chefs laugh into their sleeves at them.

Destroyed a perfectly delicious marinaded chicken for nothing now.

i would have a devil of a time stopping the chicken from struggling whilst i attempted to insert the orange - not to mention chasing it around to catch it in the first place
The only thing I've ever stuffed in the cavity for cooking is sage & onion stuffing. And since I've become convinced that doesn't cook properly there I'm loathe to do even that any more.

I suspect leaving it empty is safer. Add flavours to the outside if one must.
Was the chicken dead?
Why would you want to? It sounds revolting! I don't like stuffing cooked in the chicken, but love the flavour of it - so I put a quartered onion in the cavity and out sage butter between the breast and the skin. Yum
Why on earth would you put Avocado in a chicken? It has no taste and would just go a horrible brown colour. Maybe the chicken was off - I often put a halved orange in a chicken and always in duck and it makes a delicious sauce.
Did you put the orange there for a Laffa ,parsons knows it's nowhere for an orange
I'll stick to breadcrumbs, onion, herbs, lemon and garlic. Oranges are best squeezed and mixed into vodka
