as above......there's no uni ball or anything like that as you may need a second outfit for that - ours was very formal, black tie, tartans and the works!
Congratulations to your son Anna, you must be very proud :-)
Dress as you would to a posh meal - Smart shirt, tie, trousers and shoes for Mr Daniels. Shift dress & jacket or nice smart top with trousers and a jacket or smart cardigan and comfy heels (lots of standing around waiting for photos to be done before and collecting gowns etc, then a nice social 'milling about' time afterwards.
You'll both really enjoy it I'm sure :-)
ohh, chance to dress up, buy new shoes. I'd go for a smart suit, with a flowy, summery blouse. The most important thing, though, is to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear.
Congratulations, take the opportunity to dress up, agree wedding without the hat. Don't forget any photos taken will be treasured and possibly on display for decades :-)
My mother tried to imitate her Maj and wore yellow, inc a small hat. In fact, come to think of it, she could have also been a billboard for the Lib-Dems....
My kids all graduated from UCLAN in preston. Very mixed dress code from bride's mother to full facial piercings and grunge. It's the kids' day, so wear what they'd like to see you in - they probably want you to sort of blend in neutrally rather than hog the red carpet.
Congratulations to you and Mr Daniels...you should be very proud........we have the same dilemma in October for our eldest son's graduation and mrs bear already panicking as actor Colin Firth will be there presenting, and she has a crush. Dunno why cos I look like Daniel Craig....but she is american, which just about explains it.
I would add - any tattoos on ladies should be tastefully covered with a long sleeved blouse ( or a pair of knickers ) depending on location - of the graduation ceremony of course !
No smoking or swearing inside the grad hall
No loudly calling your husband a lazy t+sser if he is slow in locating and securing canapes
rings in the nose, nostril or eyebrow can be tastefully played down by a 'tili' ( unobstrusive stud )
we are waiting for the results too Peter Pedant but I've had a laugh reading some of the replies!
thanks for your congrats excelsior-1 and everyone else.
