A recent past post was entitled 'Civil War Breaks Out In the Eussr' but unfortunately it only attracted one answer, perhaps this is what the poster meant?

I was about to post that the current dramatic headline by an ABer is "Civil War Breaks Out In The ..........UKIP party.......Tory Party etc.
Surprised aog wasn't beaten to that drama.
This probably demonstrates that France and Germany have happily interpreted the EU dictates to suit over many years whilst the UK have hitherto meekly obeyed .Now they have been given a quota to fulfill they complain. Up until now they have both had their traffic cops directing all immigrants to Dover.NIMBY.
The EU is 28 countries. There is bound to be disagreements all the time and unlikely to be 100% agreement on anything. But it works by consensus. A difference of opinion is not evidence of civil war in the EU.

France and Germany have adopted the UK position in rejecting quotas. That is because we have the biggest economies and the illegal migrants are likely to want to get here. it makes sense to stop the illegal entry at the EU's external borders rather than try to disperse the problem when the borders are breached.

So 3 say no and 25 say yest and we are then clobbered. The 3 (who pay) have the most to loose but are effectively ruled by the others (who mostly dont pay).

Very good organization.

/// France and Germany have adopted the UK position in rejecting quotas. That is because we have the biggest economies and the illegal migrants are likely to want to get here. ///

And why are Spain and the Eastern European states seem to be also rejecting it?

/// Spain and eastern European states have also expressed concerns. ///

Anyone with any sense knows that a constant influx of migrants will very soon become completely unsustainable. Rather than argue about who's going to take whom, Europe needs to get its act together and close its borders to the boats. Time to say 'no more'.
// So 3 say no and 25 say yest and we are then clobbered. //

As well as the UK and France and Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia have also opted out of the quota system. There is clearly not a consensus on quotas. It is now unlikely that quotas will be imposed and we will not be 'clobbered'.

It is a win for the sovereignty of National Governments over the EU, but you Europhobes are too blinded to see the victory (and enjoy it).

This is not Europe's problem, it is Africa's so why aren't these migrants moving South

// youngmafbog, So 3 say no and 25 say yest and we are then clobbered. The 3 (who pay) have the most to loose but are effectively ruled by the others (who mostly dont pay).// Do you mean The 3 (who pay) have the most to LOSE ?
// And, of course, they had come courtesy of the Turks, who are supposed to be our friends and want in to the EU. //

It is not the job of the Turks to police the EUs frontline borders. The boats moving these migrants are Greek owned and operated, not Turkish. The migrants pay the operators the fare to travel. The migrants are queuing up to leave Turkey, do you expect the Turks to stop them? If migrants were queuing to leave the UK would you want us to stop them?
The EU should close this door ourselves, not blame others. If the Greek Ferry operators were heavily fined by the EU for every illegal migrant they brought to the EU, I am sure the trade would cease.
