For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.when we went we found it far easier changing cash rather than travellers cheques. i know people recommend the cheques for safety etc but the standard of hotels in Tunisia is very very good and the majority will have safes in the room if you wanted to put your cash in there. You'll also avoid any hidden charges that very often get charged to change cheques. There's not an awful lot to spend your left over Dinars on at Monastir airport so i'd advise you to get rid of most of the small stuff and change the larger notes back into sterling before you leave the hotel if you're using that airport. Tunis airport may be different however.
