We're going to Lincolnshire next month. Is there any to see at RAF Scampton, Red Arrows wise? I expected a visitors centre but the website says by appointment only which doesn't seem very hopeful.

If we time it to co-incide with the team taking off for an air show for example, is there a viewing point?

Awww thank you for good info. It looks like its tricky for the regular tourist like us to visit the home of the red arrows, but we might give it a go and find a lay-by to watch from.
Conningsby is a wonderful place to visit, standing under the nose of a Lancaster is breath-taking, I never realised high big they were.
Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage at East Kirkby good day out it is 7 miles from Horncastle, it is home of Just Jane one of the last Lancasters.

Thanks for those suggestions too, although I was hoping for a glimpse of the Red Arrows or even better, a day out at a display team visitors centre and rip off the tourist experience! They are above that clearly!
