Is this an irony or not - I had a customer (lovely wee girl) do her business with me last Monday night - she had her boyfriend with her (he was in the car but in the back) don't know why. Anyway she left keys in ignition for him to listen to music while he relaxed away. Along an opportunist comes jumps into the car (not seeing the guy in the back) and tried to start the car - fellow jumps on him. God what a great thing to happen. Shoulda beat him to a pulp. This is truly a very bad boy.

Why did she leave her keys in the ignition? The radio works with the engine off.
Is This An "irony"

No.
Not if it is wired through the ignition ummmm.
That is indeed irony. If a police officer apprehended the felon and "beat him to a pulp" there would be howls of protestation on AB but an ABer suggesting it. Irony indeed.

no Ummmm - I too have to leave my ignition in too for music too.
No, it's a happenstance. :-)
Human pulp is very hard to get out of the upholstery.
I dont have a clue what this is all about. What business? Why is someone jumping on someone a great thing to happen. Why is it a good to beat another person to a pulp?
Question Author
for joyriding - or murderers - that's why
ummmm...you're radio may work without the keys in place, but most (the vast majority I'd guess) do not.
Can't see anything ironic about it, but a sort of justice that he didn't notice his epic fail until he was caught.
How have we moved from an opportunist car thief to murderers?

Either way we have courts for justice, beating offenders to a pulp is not the way.

Ummmm - even I be sceptical re my radio if I am waiting for a few minutes somewhere as I believe it runs your battery down. So wouldn't do it too much
My radio goes off when I switch the ignition off, but if I press the radio 'on' button it comes on again. Have you tried it?
Question Author
what do they get Eccles - a slap around the wrist and go.

I know of a fella who owes a lot of money to the courts and says Ach I just go to jail for a cuppla days then the debt is paid" - isn't that lovely justice.
Question Author
naimo - no I never tried that but will today.; thanks for that tip.
That's what has happened in every car I've ever had, Naomi.
One must be cautious Conne before beating someone in a situation like that - the charge could be made against that person for excessive force.

Is it worth the risk?
Just because the judicial system isn't perfect does not mean vigilantism is the answer.
