If you go take cash in Euros or even better £ or US $. Then just change it privately you will get a far better rate !.

On TV just now , huge queues at Greek cash machines, they are being emptied as faster than they can refill them. Greece banks have asked for an emergency loan from UK subsidiaries just to get them to the end of the month, without it they will run out of cash within days! at this rate Greece banks will be out of cash by the weekend.
