My neighbour has a hedge as a patial fence, and every year, two pairs of Blackbirds nest in it, and as its nor thick, we can see the whole process, magic, and they're quite tame, taking food from our hands, he also has a cat, and last year it went after one of them during the breeding season, believe me, the cat got such a beating, it leaves them alone now.

We've got a pair nesting in our honeysuckle about 3 feet from the conservatory window, but most of the time still can't see mum! You have to nonchalantly walk by and glance in!
