i've had my periods since i was 11, and i'm now 15 and 16 in november. they have always been fairly regular but this month i had my period on the 12th april and have come on today (3rd may) thats only 3 weeks, and thats really weird for me. im wondering if there is anything wrong, because i've never had such a short gap between my period. i have only been back at school for a week, so i'm wondering if it has anything to do with stress, or i had an argument with my boyfriend yesterday so maybe its something to do with that! but whatever it is, it defiantly isn't normal for me!!!!!!! sorry for the long post, but i'm really worried.

stress can do it. Here's a useful article:

It will no doubt happen like this throughout your life, sweetheart, so try not to worry about it!

I have always been very regular but every now and again i get either a 3 week or 5/6 week gap...always have done... and i'm 35 (why do i now feel SO old?!!!!)

LOADS of things can affect your periods - stress, for example, moving house made mine go haywire for ages! Even tiny things you wouldn't normally consider you'd feel especially 'stressed' over can do it.

I would say that unless it continues to alter on a REGULAR basis and/or becomes very heavy/painful/disappears etc, then it really is PROBABLY nothing at all to worry about.

Try not to stress over it as that could make it worse! And if in ANY doubt, go and see someone medical - they will put your mind at rest, i'm sure.

Hope you get things sorted with your bf :0)

Anything can affect the way our periods work. Diet, stress, etc. Mine have never been regular but once I was stressed quite abit and I didn't have one for 4 months! I knew I wasn't pregnant. Its just the way our body reacts. However you are still a teenager and growing. You periods wont calm down until you hit about 21. That is when your body will calm down and stop its changes. You won't know your period pattern until then. :o)
