Compensation Query
Hi All, I was a passenger in a car which was involved in an accident.
I am currently going through a compensation claim, the doctor I saw advised me that I should fully recover, but that it could go on for another 2/3 months before this happens.
I've been asked do I want to proceed with the claim now (and therefore loose any right to claim at a later date) or do I want to wait till I am fully fit.
Has anybody been in this situation? If so what did you do. I think what if I am never right again, it could drag on forever and I would like to claim now but am worried.
Thanks in advance..

You should be fully assessed at stages throughout, to monitor your progress and fully assess the claim.
Do not accept any monies now - it is far too soon.
If the prognosis is a long term disability any settlement should take that into account, with loss of future earnings and enjoyment. It does not mean you have to wait until you are fully well.
Get a good solicitor - avoid the compensation chasers if you possibly can
I realise that is just your opinion, but how dare you assume anything about me when you do not know my circumstances. I have paid my car insurance premiums for 20 odd years now, along with house insurnace and all the other usualy things.
Uptil the accident I have never had to claim a penny. However, this is what insurance is for - incase things like this happen, when I HAVE EVERY right to make a claim for the injuries I have received.
I have injuries, have had time off work and gone through alot of stress during the time of this accident. I posted this question for help off other genuine AB's who may be able to help me, not for somebody like you to come and critisise me. You have no idea what I have been through.
Lets hope if you ever have to go through something like this that you dont get some prat making the same comments about you.
Iam not one to rant like this either, but you have made my blood boil. Get a life. (and yes before you answer I realise that is purely your opinion. But what you have read here is mine......
