Judicial Complaint Filed Against Me...

I had a phone call yesterday, claiming to be from a Detective Constable, telling me I had a judicial complaint filed against me. I told him I thought it was a scam and he cleared down after saying he'd put it in writing.

Today I have received an email from the Ministry of Justice, saying I have had a judicial complaint filed against me, and giving a link which will show the details of the case. I haven't clicked the link.

The email says that if I don't respond within 15 days, the case will go ahead without me.

Any thoughts please? Thanks peeps.

A judicial complaint is a complaint about a judge and the way he/she carried out his/her duties.
As you're not a judge, ignore it.

The money bit will come later when you are asked to agree an Out-of-Court settlement.

Note what Barmaid has said and then forget it. Or report the matter to your local Police Officer/Station.

I think it's just the text of the email that hc wants.

If the email doesn't even mention your name then that would confirm for me it was scam/fake. How would the police know your email address anyway

Oh I see, thanks FF. I've copied and pasted below. At the top of the email there's an official-looking symbol which hasn't copied, but the text is as follows.

UK POLICE Court Case


On June 5, judicial complaint #27814517800 has been filed for you.

To see full information please view your court case.

You have to provide the court with all the necessary information within 15 days time, starting from the date this message was received. If the information is not provided the court may take place without your participation.

The words 'your court case' are underlined and in blue - linked to another document - which I have not clicked on. Also, I've just noticed the wording is 'a complaint has been filed for you' - but the caller yesterday said 'a complaint has been filed against you'.

It's a scam. If you click on the link crypto locker virus will be downloaded. It happened at work unfortunately. Do not click on the link! Delete it.

This reminds me of the ones I get about having to appear in court in America for traffic offences or parking charges!

A definate scam imo, mrs c. I'm 99% sure that you would have had a ( snail mail ) letter, or a knock on the door from the cops.

Seriously though, it did make my heart beat a bit faster for a little while. There's some right nasty folk on the internet.
