ok I've put his here for optimum coverage. A few weeks ago one of my daughters got a cold call (doorstep) about a government scheme for 'free' cavity wall insulation. She called me and I said as long as they got no money up front to go for it. Anyway they did a 'mini survey' which consisted of taking a few photos , measuring the house and looking in the loft. They gave her a receipt with 'no charge' and made an appointment to do it next week. Luckily I was at her house tonight when she got a phone call. Apparently the survey they did was not enough to get government funding and they were trying to make another appointment to do a full EPC report to enable this funding -this 'may take a few hours' and 'may cost you money up front' which will be refunded if you are successful in your application for free cavity wall insulation. I have to say they got the full on 'retrochic' reply to that , the thieving baskets. Who can I report this to?
