Where does the word 'holeshot' come from? It means to get to the front at the start of a race.

the word holeshot believe it or not was origionally 2 words,the sayin is extreamly literal.it was just brought about as were many sports sayins by lazy commentators.it is usually used in mottorcross racin and this is where the word has its history.it was first used to make the commentry at the beggining of the race short and snappy.so instead of the commentator sayin he saw a hole or an opening and he shot into it ,they simply say he got the hole shot.it was needed because in a mottorcross race a hell of alot of action happens as they pull off the line,so it became widely known as a quick and easy way to let you know who was in the lead ,so the commentator could get on with tellin you the best details,who fell off there bike and broke loads of bones,cause contrary 2 popular belief all us mottorcross fans are rearly intrested in is crushed bones and seeing people try to kill themselves on our favourite bikes legally,and they get paid 4 it the lucky *****
