I don't know about the UK, but over here the gas/petrol is cheaper at Costco by about 5c per litre. I imagine that would add up in savings if you have a gas-guzzler of a vehicle.
For example, in terms of your money, the average price today in the Toronto area is 0.61GBP per litre; at Costco it's 0.56GBP per tire.

weather not to nice today, very wet.we might go and browse today. Can you tellme do they provide disabled scooters or will I have to bring my own ?
Question Author
leaving soon,do I need to use my own bags ?
do they have mobility scooters ?
I haven`t seen any mobility scooters there. I haven`t seen bags either - probably because people buy in bulk so bags would be too small. Items tend to be boxed (ie box of 6 Fairy liquids) etc so you just load them back into the trolley and take them to the car. Keep hold of your receipt because they check them against your items as you leave the store.
According to the Internet they do Kate, a number of customers were complaining they don't have enough. If you can I would take your own. Enjoy your visit. I bet you spend more than you anticipated! Xx
Usually pretty good, but some years ago we gave up ours after because of one of their practices - bought an electrical item on special offer, which went wrong fairly quickly. When we looked for a replacement, they refunded the price paid, and charged the replacement at current selling price.
Maybe consumer law introduced since then would prevent this, but we've still not gone back.
Take your own bags
No I've never seen mobility scooters, but I've never really looked for them. They do provide wheelchairs though.
No they don't provide bags, you can though buy huge sturdy ones which are pretty good, I have a number of them and use them for lots of things.
Stuey, I've never seen a Costco garage in the UK so I don't think we can buy fuel here, a pity if it's so cheap.
Question Author
went over this afternoon.there are no scooters, they only had three wheelchairs and they were out,so we came back home.
Oh what a shame. Hope it wasn't too far to go. Probably better to go in the week when it's not so busy. If you can get there for 12.00 you should get a scooter.
Sorry meant wheelchair.
Question Author
I will try and go during the week in the afternoon, will let you know how I got on.
Kate, we always aim to get there after 2pm, it gives the business users time to finish their shopping, and the first rush of personal users who can only get in from 12 have usually gone too.
We find if we get there for bang on 12 it's pretty busy. Weekends and bank holidays are to be avoided too if you can.
Won't they let you in on your own scooter?
We have had one for a few years, and always buy our toilet paper, mineral waters, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, etc there. It's just about worth it for us, but if you plan to go regularly, then it is well worth. They will often try to get you to upgrade, but we always decline. Clothes are quite good, their meat is excellent and they have a great selection of books.
i go often..fresh produce is good..clothes too but us sizes....
We upgraded once, for a year, when they were promoting it, to see if it was worth it in extra savings. It wasn't, and they refunded us as promised.
cold meats are good..cheese etc..also good for party size pizza andcake
OK if you are near one. There are only 26 in the whole of the UK. My nearest is over 30 miles away.
Mine is 10mins from here !
