I want someone to send me a parcel of newspapers and magazines weighing about 9 kgms. I'd like to send them the money to cover the cost first. Can anyone estimate what that might be, and what would be the cheapest method, - there is no urgency.
Thank you.

What country?
Can't work it out exactly, Khandro, but by La Poste it will be horribly expensive (I can't see it being much less than 50 euros). I regularly paid more in postage than my gifts to grandchildren cost. I suggest you contact one of the parcel firms such as DHL - we did use them and they were much more affordable and efficient, but took a little longer.
Pharos can do it for £20.39 (which is roughly a third of what Parcelforce or DHL charge) as long as the physical size is OK. (I've tried various sizes and got the same price each time but there will obviously be a point where it goes up. So you'll need to know the rough measurements of the parcel, as well as its weight, to get an accurate figure):

Thanks, and Pharos sounds good. When i come to think about it I suppose it would be simplest for me to be the customer, and if friend in UK could box them, I could arrange and pay Pharos to collect from him and deliver to me in Germany?
You can send up to 2 Kg a time as 'printed paper's' from the UK by Royal Mail.
It would be cheaper to send 4 or 5 lots to keep each lot under 2 Kg.
Here is the Royal Mail 'printed paper ' price guide , I was wrong you can send up to 5 Kg as long as it is marked ' Printed Paper Only'
