Night Time Cramp
12 Answers
I keep waking in the night with the most horrendous cramp in my feet and legs.
The pain is unbearable. It takes quite a while before it goes.
Has anyone any idea if there is anything I can take to help this situation?

However if there's no known cause then exercises three times per day might help:

Been there Caran, for me,the basic cause was dehydration big time. If you are taking water reducing tablets, they are a massive problem! If you are not drinking enough water throughout the day, especially during hot weather, you will probably have cramps :-( Once you get that initial pain..jump out of bed and just start walking up and down your room!
Caran...be careful of Deep Heat ! Its got oil of wintergreen in it and it will be very warming. There is a blue gel, by the same maker, that will numb our legs, instead of heat them up. It comes in a aerosol as well. I have a recurring knee injury, and I use that.
But statins would have been my first thought. Paracetamol before you go to bed will help, but if its chronic, I would see the Doctor.
