Wouldn't it be a good idea, especially in News posts when there are a lot of replies to comments people have made previously, to have Answerbank highlight the comment in a different colour?
This would stop everyone having to read most of the quote before they realise it is being repeated and enable the appropriate response to be given quicker. It would also make reading the posts a lot, easier. Especially when it is a popular, (slightly heated), discussion.
The Money Saving Expert's site does this. When you want to reply to a post, you tap a little box saying, "quote message in reply."
I've got nothing against the idea but, in my experience, most people indicate quotes clearly enough anyway, e.g. by preceding them with >>>, which is what I always do.
It's Andy Hughes who always quotes the post of the poster he's replying to before he adds his bit. I've seen him acknowledge it often, it's become his trademark style.
No disrespect to a-h, but it was probably the use of inverted commas every time in a discussion, and the fact that these can be missed, that prompted my idea. Thanks, Prudie.
