Any Online Greeting Card Services Where I Can Use Foreign Characters?

G'day!

I've just spoken with both Funky Pigeon and MoonPig regarding my wish to send some cards to friends outside of the UK. Several of the cards I want to send are in Russian and some are in Romanian. However, sadly, each time I try to complete the text, the characters revert to question marks...

Might anyone know of an online greeting card service in the UK that I can use where I can use any character and it will print? About 18months ago, Funky P changed their software and it no longer allows this flexibility, which is sad...

I can't find any service that posts the cards directly to the end recipient. Asda's website lets you add Cyrillic text to their cards but they'll post the cards to you:

However if you're going to do that anyway (and you've got a good quality printer) you might as well do what I do and design your own cards. You simply need a free DTP program, such as Serif PagePlus Starter Edition:

There are some templates available but I prefer to just start with an A4 page in landscape format. Then I use the right-hand half of the page for the cover design (using artwork or photos from the web). Anything I want on the back of the card goes into the left-hand half of the page.

Once that's printed onto A4 photo paper I simply fold it into two and the outer part of the card is complete. You can't print onto the back of most photo papers, so I buy A5 adhesive stickers (with two on an A4 sheet) and print onto them, so that I can attach the stickers to the insides of the cards.

Then all that's left to do is to pop the cards into a C5 envelopes, address them and post them.

You actually took it a further step for me as I've always dreamt of being able to make my own cards anyway. I tend to spend an inordinate amount of money sending cards of thanks, cheer up, get well, etc., to people every week. The daft people at Funky Pigeon tell me I'm among their top ten customers in the country...which is absolutely mortifying! But in exchange they've given me fantastic pricing But I like your suggestion far more!

I'll give it a try when I can get myself out of 'lazy' mode and try to get my head around it all. Thank you again! I'm honestly most grateful!
