Hello,
I have accidentally plugged in my EH Soul Food pedal into 18V AC Adapter. Now my pedal does not work when plugged in. I put a 9V battery which seems to work but after about 15-20min either it completely dies (starts to get really distorted and loses volume) or high pitch noise starts to come out. I replaced battery but the same thing happened again.
I don’t know much about pedals so I would really appreciate any advice on how to fix it.

It does appear that the circuitry in your pedal is fried beyond redemption.

In view of the replacement cost, I think methyl's advice regarding a replacement is sound (pardon the pun!).
