I have a very large (10'x16') very old (at least 35 years) frame tent. The roof is no longer waterproof. What is the best and cheapest way to reproof the tent?

Apricot is the tent made of canvas?...If it is then reproof it with Thompsons Water Seal...it's the colourless liquid like water which you buy in places like B&Q to paint on exterior brickwork to waterproof it. I have had horses for more years than I care to remember and have used this method very successfully on their canvas winter rugs since Adam's dog was a puppy. Trudi :o)

there is a waterproofing called 'Fabsil' which can be bought from mast good camp shop i use this to reproof my tent every year, i use a garden sprayer to apply it (the pump up type) if you erect your tent then use steps you can reach the roof, also u can reproof the whole tent this way i find it very very good, i also use it to reproof the parasol in the garden , hope this will help? Thanks Diver, I followed the advice given in 2004 and it worked like a dream. My previously leaky and very old tent stood up to a severe storm in France and came out dry at the end.
