1. Poet can see Mr Watts has lost it (I had thought of Milton because of Paradise Lost but why? or could it be Keats / Donne ?)

5. He had a certain power as a TV detective

6. His TV persona is just an act

No 5 Could be Jonathan Hart from Hart to Hart. His wife in the programme, Jennifer Hart was played by Stefanie Powers.
