Photo Icon Disappeared

I was removing my photo icon from a folder on my home screen and it disappeared. I have checked the folders but it isn't there. Help please.

If iPhone pull down the Spotlight Search and type Photo and you'll be told where the app is.

Is this on the screen of a computer or something else (such as a phone or tablet)?

What did accessing the icon do? Did it launch your photo-browsing software or do something else (such as taking a photograph with a tablet or phone)?

If you're using a Windows-based computer, and you've simply lost the icon which provides a shortcut to a program, you can easily get it back by finding the relevant program listed in 'All programs', right-clicking on the entry and selecting 'Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)'. However that's not going to help you much if you're trying to take a photo with your tablet, so that's why we need more info!

Sorry I should have added that it is the one on my iPad Air home screen where all my photos are stored.

Then on the iPad pull down the Spotlight Search (touch the screen below the time and pull down) and type Photo and you'll be told where the app is.

Did that but there was no spot light search.....I mDe a mistake it's not my iPad Air it's my iPad mini.

You have to be on the home screen to get the search to come up, just a small pull down and all the icons should fade and the search bar appears at the top

Found the search bar, searched for " photos" but nothing happens.
Then I went into email and tried sending a photo and there they were but still no icon. HELP.........

Well it isn't possible to delete any of the inbuilt apps on the iPad so this seems very strange, you get no hits at all when doing the search, unless for some reason you've changed the search, go into settings and in 'general' there should be 'spotlight search', go into that and check that 'applications' is ticked and then try the search again

You were right Fitzer applications wasn't ticked. I've done that now and could get all the photos but now how fo I get the icon back onto my home screen?

When you find Photos in search does it have anything on the right hand side, it should say 'Applications' above it and if you have moved it to a folder it should tell you which one on the right, you just then need to go there and move it where you want it

I finally got it back by resetting the home screen layout. Now it's back to bSics and a lot of work personalising it again, but that's tomorrow's job. Thank you all for your time and patience.
