I wouldn't sit out and wait to see the queen wave but can you imagine how much money that brought in. Tube, trains, taxis, fast food, silly flags/hats/outfits. I know the royal family cost tax payers money but....not on this scale.
ive seen the queen 3 times live and on tv and press for the last 65 years at least four times a week, i feel shes like my distant grandma , i love the lady, and not ashamed to say there will be a big hole in my heart when her times comes
I remember seeing the Queen Mother in the 1940s and was convinced for many years that she smiled at me. I have always loved the Royal Family (well most of them), and wouldn't want to do their job for all the money in the world. Yes, they have a lot of money but are at constant risk and can't go anywhere on their own. Yes, I would wave happily at the Queen, and think she does s wonderful job.
I didn't say if the Queen waved at you...I said in your general direction.
I don't think the Queen would wave at a random individual member of the pleblic..
I know what you mean, Mamya.....came out of the car park early and had 55 minutes left on my ticket (the rates here horrendous), a woman standing at the machine in the queue on the phone. I wound down the passenger side window and said "Would you like the ticket, I have nearly an hour on it?" I got an icy stare and a blunt "I am on the phone." My response, "Feck off, I wouldn't give it to you now, anyway."
And look where the russians are today. A police state full of frustrated drunks or greedy oligarchs who will bend you at will till your early agonised death.
