I think Aldi have lost the plot. They may be cheaper but I think it's because the quality is not very good. I've been very disappointed with a number of recent purchases so I'm going back to Tesco.
I used to do a big chunk of my shopping at Aldi but I find I spend less if I get it all from Asda - £5 a month delivery charge (got to be cheaper than driving to the store and back), deliver in bad weather, price guarantee (I get quite a bit back each week) and I can see what I am spending as I shop.
I will continue to shop elsewhere as I prefer to buy local produce. If it can't be local it will at least be British. If we don't produce it here then I will chose whether to buy it at all or whether to buy it through a fair trade community.
I'm not interetsed in cheap unregulated imported food.
Maydup -on Friday I bought Scottish strawberries Cornish cheddar, free range chicken from a producer in Lincoln, British outdoor bred bacon, and many more products produced in the UK -all from Aldi. Maybe you should go take a look instead of presuming Aldi is full of 'unregulated imported food'
