I have a 14 yu daughter who spends a lot of time doing homework and chatting on this PC. What I'd like to do is restrict her access to MSN messenger (and Yahoo) either by putting a passoord on it so it can't be run unless I know about it or by having the system only make it available at certain times of the day.

Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can do this ?

On my internet access via AOL, there is a Parental Controls option where you can set a list of websites that a certain screen-name can access along with a "time online" editor where you can limit the times of day and length of use per day, ie. AOL accessible between 4pm & 8pm for 1 hour only. You can also request the Guardian Control be enabled to alert you by e-mail if the child tries to access any websites not listed by you in the allowed section. There must be similar options I'm sure with other service providers.

Hope I haven't whittled on and that info is of some use to you!
