Where do they get these people? Illegal immigrants should be rounded up and sent back to their place of origin. they are already costing this country far too much money in the first place, as for that judge he is an idiot.

//He's been jailed and will be deported. //

doubtful. judging on our judiciary's past performance, when he's released he'll claim article 8 because he's attached to his neighbour's budgie.
mushroom
Well that would be in the hands of another judge though wouldn't it?
I cannot see why this man is deemed an idiot for his judgement.
Lol....Doubtful. He's only been in the country a few months.

People do get deported regardless of what the media would lead us to believe.
“How is it a joke? He's been jailed and will be deported.”

First part right (well, half right. He’ll serve no more than half his sentence). Second part possibly not. “May” be deported would perhaps be a better statement. There are over 10,000 foreign national in prison at present and between 4,000 and 5,000 are removed following release each year:

“Illegals can't claim benefits.”

A moot point and one open to pedantry. The term “illegal immigrant” is a misnomer. It is not an offence to gain entry to the UK without proper authority. The better term would be “immigrants who have not fomalised their status”. They may arrive without authority and then claim asylum. In doing so they move from the “illegal” status they had when they arrived to a “legal” status. Immediately they do so they become eligible for benefits. Of course under the UN rules on the treatment of refugees they should claim asylum at the first opportunity in the first safe country they arrive in and if they do not they forfeit the right to do so. Virtually none of those arriving here comply with that rule as they almost certainly have arrived from a safe country. Furthermore, many of them shout “asylum” only when they have been apprehended by the authorities “helping out” in their local Chinese takeaway or kebab shop. But those rules seem to be conveniently ignored.

This country has lost the will to deal with the invasion of immigrants (be they “illegal” or otherwise). It has lost proper control of its borders. (The only people who seem inconvenienced by the Border Agency are those entitled to be here. I can attest to this having spent 75 minutes clearing immigration at Gatwick late on a Sunday evening a few weeks ago). It has lost control of its legislation which allows it to determine who comes and who stays. Until it regains control (which does not appear to be any time soon) Judge Onions and his colleagues will continue to have to deal with those who enrich our socity and economy by engaging in such activities as minding cannabis farms.

control will not be exercised because it's too convenient to maintain the status quo. when the "living wage" is introduced, use of those who have no entitlement to work here (at a rate below even today's minimum wage) will be even more attractive - and let's not forget that use of such a grey workforce goes right to the top.
