Yes he did. The Bridge is the original version of The Tunnel and is far superior, if you can find it, it's well worth a watch. Swedish/Danish subtitles thoug.

Thank you RR - I somehow missed The Bridge but am not a fan of sub titles so probably won't get around to watching it. Appreciate the info on the Tunnel.

Tilly I know nothing about The Bridge but The Tunnel on Sky Atlantic finished last night. It's the only one I've seen.

What happened at the end, rsvp? Was the son waiting on a lonely road, at night and a car approached?

that was the last weeks ending - the truth terrorist had conned the son into believing he was the son's ex-girlfriend and arranged the meeting on the lonely road. TT kidnapped son and finally killed him. Carl lost the plot and went spare, finally tracked down TT and in the showdown the blonde French detective he'd been working with talked him out of killing the TT by saying his son was still alive.
I believe there's another series planned.

this was a rerun of the English version last shown about a year or so ago I believe.

thank you ukbod2015 - not sure if I'll watch another although I like the actor who played Carl but I found it a little confusing. Must be getting old.
