My 11 year-old will not eat any veg. She will drink Knorr Vie shots with carrot etc.

To reproduce this sort of fruity/veggie drink myself, do I need a juicer, a blender or a smoothie maker?

And any tips for a good cheapish one?

Thanks in advance, Kaz.

a juicer is great, but i hate to see all the wasted stuff after juicing go to waste. it's only so much soups and muffins you can make.

That's what I thought. Is a juicer just removing all the fibre? I thought that is one of the benefits of 5-a-day.

I have this smoothie maker:

It is also easy to clean and useful when making soups etc

You can't make a carrot smoothie and veg doesn't do too well in a smootie maker (which is pretty much just a blender) to make Carrot juice you will need a juicer.

I have this juicer and it's really good.

You can stick the waste into a composte bin, yes you do lose the fibre but you more than make up for that in the increased vitamin count of the fresh juice.
The one I have does veg well! I have a separate blender but the smoothie maker blends the fruit and veg much finer than the blender. My mum has a juicer and i would say the result is very similar except you can do bananas, yoghurt, ice cream etc in mine, and that mine has much less wastage
chazza, i like that smoothie maker. i might get one. thanks for sharing that.
Before you lash out money on a blender, have you tried trying to get her to drink chilled tomato juice garnished up with a sprig of parsley or watercress. It's readily available in waxed cartons.

Alternatively, chilled V8 (available in cartons, bottles or cans) is a very tasty drink combining the juice of 8 vegetables which she might enjoy. It's also a very filling and healthy snack for anybody who is trying to lose weight.

Thanks to all for help, tips and opinions. I knew I could rely on the ABers for answers.

Chazza's smoothie maker seems a good bet, I think I will try it before going the juice route. Maybe I realy need both.
