After a lot of faffing about I finally managed to get a download going and my intention was, as they said was possible, was to download and install it later at my convenience. It appears, however, unless I`ve missed something that you can only defer the installation for a maximum of two days. Ok thats enough to get your essentials backed up but I cant see why the limit is so small shen its on your own machine.
Because they can. Clutching at straws, maybe it was about issues re copying it to someone who wasn't entitled to a free "upgrade", but there are surely better ways to do that.

Its possible but with this type of control I`m sure that, somewhere built into your download, there is a code so they know where the copy is originally sent to.
ukbod once you have downloaded it you will find that you have 1 month to decide to revert back to your old system. I feel that once you have it done and personalised it you will be more than happy to have it.
Its not that scary - I`m quite happy with firefox and I can find all the bits I need so far so I guess I`m keeping it - does that mean I can sell my Win 7 lol
