Personally I think we are at an all-time low in quality or humorous TV adverts!
Many are just positively annoying- especially the Bingo lot.....But one in particular that doesn't do it for me at all is McVities "sweet" biscuit/bar with the awful rodent-come-hamster thing that flies through the air causing havoc in its wake finishing up in the hands of an attractive McVities consumer looking 'sweet'....
The cheese-string ads are scarcely better....
We rarely watch live TV so can FF through the ads. When we do have to watch them, some are so ambiguous lt's only in the last few seconds you 'get' what they are advertising.
I so agree with Retrochic - and I think the ambiguity of the ad is deliberate, to hold our attention, until the product being advertised is revealed. I am thinking in particular of the one with Trevor MacDonald. It is interesting, cleverly filmed, and intriguing - until you find out it is advertising an opticians!
I agree with a lot of the other posts, but another one is the 118 118 ads - I think they are supposed to promote a phone number directory, but am starting to wonder. If they are then, they can't be succeeding - the 2 of them are getting worse.
On the other hand, I think most of the Specsavers ads are good with a few unremarkable exceptions.
The dog saying "BOOK", is the worse ever advert, it sounds like someone having a gag reflex, and I try to find the remote to turn it off, but I'm never quick enough.
We hate ads that are noisy or show disgusting stuff while we are eating. Especially toilet cleaners or dishwasher cleaners - you know the ones. Our favourite ad is the very quiet Secret Escapes.
