This evening we discovered an extremely beautiful but exhausted racing pigeon in the garden. We managed to catch it and it is now in a pet carrier in our utility room. It has had some food and some water and is not the least bit afraid of us. Now what do we do? We need someone to come and take it away. I have tried in vain to find a local pigeon fanciers' club number. Any ideas about who we should contact?
Stupidly, we didn't take the information from the leg rings before putting it in the carrier. We don't want to disturb it again and will have a look tomorrow morning.

Sure do, her name is Daisy.
Will you phone the vet tomorrow and find out what happened to her Tilly?

Not you, Yont. Me. Do I have a cat?

I want to LB but Mr T says I shouldn't. He thinks it's best not to know.

Don't know about a cat, I do know about a dog though, Yilly.

I bought that basket to collect Tilly from the breeders, ten years ago. No cats here. (Well there are but they're not ours)
Well he does have a point there I suppose ...

I do want to know though.........LB.
I wouldn't phone if I were you, Yilly.
Question Author
It might be good news, though. Then again........ :-(
And if it isn't you will be berating yourself because you didn't keep her. Difficult one. I don't know what I'd do either. See how you feel in the morning.
Question Author
I couldn't have kept her, LB. We don't have a suitable home for a pigeon. If I had a dovecote, I would not have thought twice about it.

I won't ring the vets. I don't want to know. I just know that she didn't get attacked by the sparowhawk or the flipping cats.
