High Tea

We've been invited to a golden wedding high tea, I know what I'm wearing but what should Mr M wear?

If it was me it would be something loose. High tea is so moreish. :-)

If you check online most sites say smart casual, no need for a suit and tie unless you want to, or the venue is one of the very high class London hotels which will state their own dress code.
Again, most say no jeans and trainers, but some say it doesn't really matter.
We went to a 90th birthday high tea somewhere posh one summer, all the men wore summer trousers, short sleeved shirts, no tie, some wore a jacket, some didn't.

Thank you all - it's a posh ish hotel in Gloucester so I think he'll have to go with the suit but maybe not the tie??

suit and tie.....unless the invite says semi-formal, then blazer and tie.

Could always go naked and give them a shock - or in the kilt.......

Hi Anne... Well not good with the boy, he went into rehab came out a different person, it was fab for... 2 weeks! He looks awful, so thin. In the grand scheme of things he's not as bad as he could be, he drinks a 2 liter bottle of cider a day so not the vodka now. He can have that bottle in his room and not touch it but if there isn't one there he's in a panic. I don't don't know.. We've been to councilling with him but now makes any difference. Now for our pride and joy! Our grandson has been with us for 10 months and has recently had his 2nd birthday. He's going through the 'terrible two's' and is such hard work for my daughter, everything is done at a run. He's our little soldier and we love him so much. High tea is only having tea before the supper. There is long break after lunch and before the supper. To conquer that break individuals have tea.
